Clay or White who do you think we stop better

Let's look at the 2 rb's we will face on Saturday which back will we do a better job against. This will be the one of the big keys for Saturdays game if Iowa can win the line of scrimmage both OL and DL we win, and if Hawks continue no turnovers Iowa wins by 10 plus points this Saturday in the battle of for the BULL

Give me Clay 8 days a wk. As of late I feel IA has had more consistent success against bigger backs that aren't as shifty, some of them being from UW. The smaller, shiftier backs that can get the edge and break a 20-yarder make me considerably more nervous than the lumbering types that I think our D will slow down and eventually control as the game progresses.

actually in the first half before he was injured last year clay had his way with us. i will take my chances with the redshirt freshman. the one thing i do know is that when you are an average player overperforming you tend to come down to earth once and a while. being a bigger game this week, expect much of the game to be dictated by play action and the QB's. a-rob, and clay/white will be held to below 100 each. watch out for TE production though. Reisner has been MIA the last few games but we will go to him early and often in this game, wisconsin will do the same.

that's like asking, "who do you think we will stop better, A-rob or jewell?"

i'd rather not face either of them

White is a true freshman and is liable to make a mistake here or there. Clay is a bruiser who beat us up early last year. If we can contain Clay, then White probably won't be as effective, but you never know. I think it will be tough to stop either guy.

+1

Every time we've played against Clay (the last couple of years), he has been really gimpy by the end of the game. If he doesn't get a big hole and has to go laterally, he's much easier to stop. The same was true with Dayne. IF our D line can get off blocks, I'd rather face Clay.

Hopefully we stop both equally well, but I think we might have a better chance at stopping Clay. Though, if our defense has good open-field tackles, we probably could do a number on White as well.

White is the kid that concerns me. Clay will get some good licks on him and start slowing down by the end of the game, but White can bounce outside and "he be gone". It's not a matter of stopping, it's a matter of containment...Stop better? Clay for sure, White? Who knows...

White concerns me far more than (feet of) Clay.
