if someone tells you that they are one of the most honest people you will ever meet, that usually means that they are a chronic liar.
 
As long as you have 11 guys on the field and none of them are over the snapper what's it matter at that point geez... I liked when Franklin had mediocre teams better...
 
"I didn't want them to score. The team worked really hard and pitching a shutout is a special thing. I'm sure some will disagree with the decision but football is a competition." That would likely be 99% more true and 99% less douchey.

Agreed. When Cornelius Robertson called a timeout against Indiana with 00:10 left, then the Hawks subsequently scored, Hayden took a ton of crap. His answers were excellent. To wit:

--I'm putting guys in who can still get looks from the NFL. I can't put them in and tell them NOT to go all-out.
--Nobody cared when we were getting beat by scores like 57-0 and 58-13 just two years ago. THOSE teams were called "powerhouses". Now Iowa's being a bully?
--Every player on our team earns playing time based, in part, on the effort they give. That isn't unique to Iowa. Anything less than 100% cheats our players and it cheats our opponents.
 
You expect class from a university that protected pedophiles and fans of that school that think they did nothing wrong?
 
Hopefully we can hang with them so crowd stays into it all game. At least with this team we seem to have a better chance of coming back if we do get down early. I also hope those sitting down low on the east side are in the ears of that team the whole game.

So you are so concerned about your shut out against an inferior opponent, you call timeout and put better players in. Something meaningless (the field goal) is always going to be something meaningless...why the timeout? It's some sort of douche way of saying they worked hard for the shut out...against Georgia State? We are all so proud of you Penn State. That shut out was amazing and one I will remember forever as something really, really special. It was Georgia State...not Georgia you freaking moron Franklin.

James Franklin is going to approach Nick Saban in pure douche territory...he won't do it in National Titles. Saban wouldn't give a rats ass up 56-0 about a team kicking a field goal. He would probably think less of the coach for attempting it down 56-0...but he would NOT call timeout. I guarantee that.
 
Franklin's team of Ninny Lions will not reach the playoffs anyways. Another year or 2 and he will bail when he realizes his ceiling and then he can take that we beat opponents to a pulp first play or last play bullshit to the SEC. Florida, Tennessee, Arkansas and maybe Auburn jobs could be open this off-season. Hope the door dont hit ya on the way out James.
 
Franklin's style of communication is so much different than what we're accustomed to at Iowa from a head coach. He comes across as cavalier. Its off putting...takes some time to get used to.

Brian's style is a bit closer to his, and that will take some getting used to.

Yeah, but if he's a pedophile, all those other places aren't going to protect him like the folks in Happy Valley will.
