The rumor reported by Morehouse said it would require surgery. Hope this is all a hoax. This injury thing is getting ridiculous.

TOS has stated that Marc has tweeted that it is NOT true. I haven't seen, nor have I looked for, any tweets from him or anyone.

He and Dochterman talked about it extensively on their latest oniowa podcast. Again, just a rumor at this point...but when these guys discuss stuff like this, I consider it a bit more reliable.

So you can hear this around the 9:40 mark. It is NOT reporting from Morehouse or Dochterman - one of them just says "I just saw a tweet go by, I may get in trouble but I'll just read it, 'hearing Beathard has sports hernia requiring surgery, anybody know anything about this?'" and then they say "ouch" and ramble a bit. No mention of who tweeted it.
Honestly, this feels like irresponsible behavior from a couple guys I normally respect.

Yes, but they made reference to it at least three times throughout the podcast--not promoting or denying the rumor...I was surprised they even brought it up... ***The fact they DID bring it up made me think it might be from a reliable source considering Marc n' Doc's reputation.

Can you remove this thread. At the moment this rumor is completely unsubstantiated and has been removed by two other Hawkeye forums already. The person who first reported this rumor is not a big donor or someone with special access to the team, I think this thread needs to be removed until (if) this rumor is substantiated by someone more credible. Please remove this thread.

If it's true, then who cares if it's talked about now or in the morning? If it's not true, who cares if it's talked about now and confirmed false in the morning? This isn't really a "can cause damage by talking about it" rumor.
