CJ Walker

Looks like Fran offered. CJ is a former Purdue commit. It appears he has opened his eyes de-committed, and opened up his recruitment. Butler may be in the lead. Although CJ did note his Iowa offer by saying he was blessed to have it...http://hawkeyenation.com/forum/show...g-5-for-2015-right-here&p=1421563#post1421563

He looks like he can score. We will see... He has a long list of offers. Not that that matters, but for those who care.
I like his explosiveness and shooting. Have to feel he's underrated. It makes me wonder why he decommitted from Purdue. Was it just to go to Butler, his second choice the first time around? Does he suddenly dislike Purdue for some reason? Or is he just looking for a better offer?

I don't think Painter has ever been an up and down the floor kind of coach and this kid seems better in up tempo than half court. I'm not sure Butler is much different than Purdon't, but I'm not real certain of their approach with the new coach. Iowa (or an up tempo team) seems better suited.

A little Marcus Paige-esque imo....He exudes confidence as a floor leader and would look exceptional in black/gold....Go get'em Fran and seal the deal

If the reason Walker decommitted really is a tempo issue, I really hope Fran pursues this kid because I do think he could be a good fit with Iowa. His clips show skills Fran could use in the B1G from day 1 in 2016, but not so wowing as to attract the blue-blood sharks.

Of course I'm only guessing on the Purdon't thing. But as for your description, I don't think "blue blood" type but looks built for what Fran appears to be moving towards; which is a team full of instinctive basketball athletes and top notch shooters. He could step in day 1 and share with Christian Williams. That'd be pretty nice to have.

With the shot clock most likely going to 30 seconds next year, tempo shouldn't be an issue for most teams now. I'm interested to see how it will affect teams like Wisky, MSU and Purdue - teams that like to slug it out 50-48 most times.

I hope it adversely affects them to the max. Heck with them.

I honestly don't think it will affect those teams that much. Many of them like to start their offense late in the clock not necessarily having any trouble with it. I think where you'll see a big difference is with less talented teams or poor shooting teams will have a much more difficult time vs teams that can shoot the rock. Teams won't be able to hide poor shooting as easily given the increase in possessions which should, in theory, give them a shooting % closer to their actual %.

I actually think this will help some of those teams you mentioned as it should be easier to defend for 30 seconds than 35 seconds. Hopefully Iowa continues to emphasize improvement on defense and it helps the Hawks.

Edit: just realized that this is supposed to be about CJ Walker

Great players are great players who can create their own shot so five seconds here or five seconds there isn't really going to matter. Now Lickliter level players would have a seizure along with Lick himself.
