Nice to see those sanctions impacting Oregon greatly. Really too bad the NCAA has washed their hands of any and all nefarious recruiting activity. They should have been given the death penalty. Sanctions should be based on recent past success when doling out penalties. It's and exponent or compounding affect. When they recruit a bunch of knuckle draggers from Texas through financial means, Darron Thomas and LaMichael James it gives legitimacy to for other players to come there, even if those players were not paid to come there.

Are they total a-holes? I could see them being the worst fans of about any program. They found nothing egregious about the NCAA sanctions which was nothing more than a 2 minutes "time out" for a 3 year old.

Uncle Phil put the heat on the NCAA. They didn't even get a ruler on the knuckles.

It is simply amazing to follow Iowa and Oregon and see how different the two programs are. The feeling in Oregon is that the future is theirs. They have gone from a B-level program to a program that gets 5 star players. They can lose a commitment guy like Johnny Manziel and not care. Their gear is fresh, their game is fresh, and they live like gods in Eugene.

Iowa felt kind of that way not that long ago, but it was never the same. It always felt like Iowa was Rocky competing with Ali, whereas Oregon went from being a Rocky to being an Ali.
 
So much for the small but vocal group of guys on here that said that he sucked back during the recruitment. They couldn't stop posting how soft he was and never thought he'd contribute at d1 level.

It's really weird. Growing up in the Big 10, we think about football traditions. Oregon fans do not give a **** about traditions. Their jerseys change every game, they play flag football offense. They think programs like Iowa are dinosaurs who should be extinct.
 
Portland is awesome. need to get back there sometime. good to know there are Hawk fans out there.

I love it out here. The summers are an absolute paradise compared to Iowa, and it almost never gets below freezing in the Winter. And having lived in Iowa my whole life, moving to Portland was pretty much like moving to a European city.
 
Thought I'd share this experience as a Hawkeye in Duck country.


*Duck fan moves incredibly slow"
Duck Fan: Hey look at me.
*I look at him moving slowing*
Duck Fan: Guess who I am.
Me: Go **** yourself
Duck Fan: I am an Iowa Hawkeye
 
Now every time one of them thinks I am looking at them, they drink they raise their glass to their mouth in slow motion. Screw these guys, I am going home.
