Bogus report has Pittsburgh set to join Big Ten - Chicago Breaking Sports
The reporter contacted the Big Ten Conference as opposed to relying on "insiders" and "reliable sources". In other words, by simply contacting the subject of the story instead of relying on someone's girlfriend's second cousin twice removed who dropped a class they had once with a guy who used to be on the Pitt football team freshman year's word on what is going on they were able to confirm that the Big Ten's official stance is to adhere to the 12-18 month timetable from December before a major announcement is made.
