With Jaleel Johnson heading off the the NFL, the Iowa coaches are looking for another disruptive force on the interior of their defensive line. True sophomore Cedrick Lattimore is getting the first crack at being that guy:

Sounds like Phil Parker is feeling better about our ability in the middle. He seemed to think Lattimore and Reiff have made huge strides...which bodes well. I still think, with the talent at DE, and AJ coming in, you have to move Matt Nelson inside. The interesting comments to me were about Brandon Simon. He's going to be rushing the passer in some package. Getting to the QB solves alot of your safety issues. If you don't give them time to get people deep, your safeties can't get beat. I like that philosophy.
