I try to go to all away games. I have all the games set up except a couple.
I have fixed costs, including lodging, tickets etc.
I have passengers for most of these, but not all.
I normally leave on Friday mornings, and return on Sundays. I have points of interest that I am familiar with at all away game locations, if you read me. Restaurants, entertainment, etc.
I don't stay at dumps, but rarely pay more than $60 per night. I don't eat at crappy restaurants, but I know good value in food in all of the areas that I travel to. It's a quality trip, very inexpensive. Everyone is surprised at how cheaply I do these trips, given the quality of hotels and restaurants I frequent.
When two people go, it costs about $132.00 per person before their food and entertainment. When 4 people go, the costs before food and entertainment drop to around $120.00. Both prices include tickets.
I am very proficient at taking the tickets I purchase through the U of I, and trading a scalper up for better seats. Very proficient. I always have good seats. Including Nebraska, Michigan, Ohio State and PSU. 40 yard line is not a problem.
Most likely there is still availability for Ann Arbor and East Lansing. Northern Illinois is almost full, Indiana is a place I stay out of town for. I don't like the area, and the only redeeming value is dinner at the Beef House in Covington. Return trip to Chicagoland for the NWN game is also open.
Chicago is a little more difficult. I have a place in downtown, but I'm selective about who might or might not go on this trip for obvious reasons, and don't use it very often.
I try to go to every away game, but I don't like to travel alone. I usually miss one or two, due to scheduling conflicts with my football buddies, so I'm throwing out the offer to get all games locked in.
Interested? Let me know.
