ESPN 30 for 30 documentary on the Steve Bartman story to air Tuesday Sept. 27. Cant wait and to be honest as they show the replay of that he wasnt the only one reaching for the ball. This whole deal ruined his life and this will bring up old painful memories for cubs fans

I am an absolute Cubs hater so I look forward to the painful memories for them and I feel bad for Bartman. It's another one I can't wait to watch too.

I rented this On Demand a few months ago.

Fantastic documentary. Very well done. First hand interviews with the people who were right there.

Also looks into the Bill Buckner error in the '86 WS and how it has changed his life. But the majority of the film is Bartman.

Has this been on air before then?

Comcast (On Demand) had it June. Not sure if other cable companies showed it or not.

I stumbled upon it will looking at New Releases. Very surprised, right away I thought it was a teaser or trailer or some sneak preview.

It was $8.00/$9.00, which is about twice their normal new movie rate in HD. But I didn't want to wait. I remember ESPN's 30 for 30 ads for this as it was originally planned as part of that series.

It was well worth the bill.

I am a Cubs lover and look forward to painful memories too! :) I am looking forward to this as well, especially since they are tying it to Buckner's play for the Red Sox. Memories!

Still too soon for me. I was catatonic for a good week after game 6, including game 7.
Believe me, I know. I wrote an email during the game (in the dial up days) saying 5 outs to go! That was just before all heck broke loose. One buddy still puts 5 outs to go in his Cub emails to me.

I was sitting about 20 rows behind him. It's a was a sad deal, they barely got him out of there. People were throwimg all kinds of stuff at him.

Wow. Must have been surreal sitting there. I would be interested in your perspective of the movie/doc if you get a chance to see it.

You had dial up in 2003? Did you spend all of your money on a rotary phone and couldn't afford broadband?

Cubs fans blaming a goat and Bartman for their years and years and years of failure. How about it’s a horribly run organization? Just sayin…maybe that’s why. Pathetic. Should be a good doc though.

Are they going to focus on Gonzo's horrific boot shortly after the Bartman incident?

They better- Gonzo booted the (should have been) double play ball from Cabrera that would've easily gotten them out of the inning still leading 3-1. That was the real turning point of the inning.

It will be interesting to see it. We were in the cold beer pretty hard, and really weren't sure what had happened on the play. It seemed like it was early in the 9th when we saw security come down and cover him in coats and bring him up the stairs. That's when people really started yelling and tossing stuff.

That play was a harbinger. Gonzo had an insane fielding percentage that year. He was a robot at short and that play was taylor made.....or should have been. The Cubs are jinxed. I'm glad to be a Yankee fan. Jeter would have made that play. :D

100 % true on the Gonzo error.

The thing that get's me (and I'm a die hard Cubs fan) is the fact it was a foul ball. It wasn't a homerun or anything truly in play. All they had to do was move past it and get the out. Unfortunately, IMO if it wasn't Bartman it would have been something else that caused them to implode mentally to the point where they couldn't get their heads back into it and will themselves into the world series. I truly feel bad for the guy because they're the one's that choked, yet he'll forever be the one blamed for it.

I'm surprised more people don't talk about this. He was a great SS that year and blew an easy double play ball.
