career rushing yards

I saw a tweet saying Tyler Goodson is now the leading single season rusher for any Iowa freshman with 590 yards and still the bowl game to go.

It got me to thinking where Toren and Mehki stand in career yards, I couldn't find the thread with the spreadsheet to see where they slot but that should be showing up soon. I know they are both above the 'Fetters' line (in the 1000 club).

1288 Mehki Sargeant
1244 Toren Young

They are both in the 1000 yard club for time eternal. With TG emerging it's hard to see them getting 700 plus rushing yards going forward to get to 2000 but you never know. At this point as long as he stays healthy and in school Tyler Goodson could go way up the chart.

One of them (Sargent or Toren Young) is transferring. My guess is Toren Young is gone. I don't blame him...Goodson is a special player. Either way, you wish them the best and thank them for the hard work. They were fun to watch.

Count me as someone who liked the RB by committee last season. Each guy had their own strengths, and I was really impressed with the way Sargent finished the year.

But I don't think he built upon that this season. He hurt us with a couple of really untimely fumbles (last night and the very first play of the game against Michigan come to mind), and just seemed to lack anything that would make him stand out. I think he'd be great in a 3rd down role in the future, as he's a willing and able blocker and has good hands out of the backfield.

Toren Young still has a role as a downhill, short-yardage guy. He's the guy you bring in after 3 quarters of Goodson to just pound on a tired defensive front.

IKM is in an odd spot, having been hurt and now redshirting. He's got a similar skillset to Goodson, although probably not the same top-end speed, but his confidence is really low right now. Maybe he's the change of pace guy in 2021, but if anyone is transferring, my money is here.

Ultimately, as the coaches have show, this is the Tyler Goodson Show moving forward, as it should be. So, there's gonna be fewer touches for more bodies.

Yeah Goodson is a runner. He was born to play rb, he has natural ability. If he puts in the work this off-season he is going to be a major weapon next year.
I still think IKM can be too.
While it's nice to have a big back to pound the rock, it's starting to become pretty obvious that fast cutting and shake and bake type rb's are the type that flourish in our system.

Young is gone after this year

You couldn't blame Toren if he does leave but I truly believe his blood runs black and gold.
