Card stunt for the Wisconsin game

So for the Be Bold Wear Gold game against Wisky on Saturday, there is apparently going to be a card stunt.

Hopefully it goes better than when their football team came to town.

Really hope we do not use red and white as to showcase Wisconsin's colors like we did in football. Sometimes our marketing dept needs their heads pulled out of their ***.

Is this the 3rd or 4th dress code game? I know they already did one gold out against Ohio State. Take any idea that was cool at one point and absolutely just beat that idea to death.

I dunno if I agree with you Evening... If you look at some of the best crowds in college hoops, you see the crowd mostly wearing one color. As an out of state Hawkeye fan, the Carver environment doesn't tend to pop on TV both from an appearance or noise perspective. I look forward to seeing an entire arena full of gold on Sunday as I did earlier this season too. At the least, it seems a bit intimidating for an opponent to play in. If we need the school to help facilitate this, so be it. But don't hate on them trying to make this a come court advantage.

Duke= Blue out
Kentucky= Blue out
UNC= Sky Blue out
MSU = White out
Iowa State = Red out

This stuff drives me crazy. None of the great college atmospheres over the years ever needed to resort to this crap. A game or two of wearing gold is ok, but once you start dabbling with coordinated stripes or holding up cards you're over thinking it. The game experience in Kinnick or Carver is already outstanding.

^ totally agree. But anyone tuning in outside of Hawkeye Nation have to think it looks badass in Carver or Kinnick.

giant foam middle fingers with "Up yours, Bo" on them.

If they can give away bobble-heads then they can afford it.

Penn State football whiteouts? That's quite an atmosphere to play in. However, we did win in that environment a few years back.

It's another Sally Mason control attempt I tell ya!

First the booze curtailment, then the noise abatement, now we're being told what to wear more and more.

Next thing they're going to do is rename Iowa City to Sochi, Iowa.

Anyone taking issue with having to wear the school colors to a game that they are attending, Is honestly just looking for something to complain about.

I have an idea for those who wish to complain just grab your favorite nite-nite attire and turn the T.V on and watch it at home.

Everyone wears Hawkeye colors to the games already. If the school wants everyone to wear one specific color every now and then, that's fine. But it's getting overdone. And coordinated stripes and cards feel like stunts that take away from an already great environment.

I guess I'd understand if the school wants the home crowd to eventually wear gold to all home games (similar to seeing red at Nebraska or Wisconsin). That makes sense. But anything beyond that is trying too hard.

I still think the card stunt for the football game was very cool (from 2 years ago). I'm a fan of everyone wearing gold to every home game for basketball. I hope they are trying to make this happen.

Card stunts come off pretty cool on TV.

Have you been to a game lately? Just wondering, because I saw people wearing everything but Black and Gold. Teal, green, pink...you name it. Unfortunately some Hawk fans need a sign and the University is trying to help them.

^ delusional. A card stunt for 15 seconds looks cool on tv, but the stripes that last an entire game don't.... #logic

Facts are facts.

The cards come out of nowhere and you are like: "Mind blown".

The shirts have no dramatic entry and you are like: "Look at the dude in the gold section wearing black."

That's exactly how it looks on TV too. The gold out looked *awesome* and the stripes in between sections looked good (only when they panned out).

Should be a gold out every game! Black doesn't come off well on TV unless there's gold to contrast it....that's the only reason why the stripes looked somewhat OK on tv.
