Since when on a running play does it matter if the split end covers up the tight end? Weird call in the Cowboys-Seahawks game. The boys had 1st and 10 at about the seahawks 14 yard line and the handoff to Elliott was for a running play. The Cowboys had maybe 3 guys off the LOS but on one side the WR was on the LOS as was the TE who was closer to the center. But who cares. The only formation rule is no more than 4 players can be in the backfield off the LOS. If it is a passing play then you have to be uncovered on the LOS to be considered eligible. But this was a running play.
