Bye Bye Brust

It's time to say thanks but not thanks to Ben Brust and move on. It's obvious that he's prefers to play in a "slow ball" system if he intends to seek a waiver in order to sign with Wisconsin. Should he come to Iowa and find the up tempo style not to his liking, chances are he would be gone in a year or two. The program needs stability not more defections.

I tend to agree here. I don't want to be a "fallback" option for Brust. If he feels his game is best fitted for a grind it out style of play, that's fine. If his game does not fit Fran's style, offer the schollie to a player who fits Fran's system.

I could be wrong but I don't think the door is closed on Ben yet. I don't believe that FRan has given up at all. It's just happening slower than we would like.

These comments are based on speculation only. How easy we are to dismiss just because Wisconson (not Brust) files an appeal.

Bo, is that you?

I'd be happy to have him, if he transfers after a year or two that is fine also. Would give McCaff a couple years to establish relationships with recruits that actually want be here.

I think Ben will be worth all of the angst in the long run. If he comes he will be all Hawk. By all accounts hes a smart, great kid and I still think there's a chance that Ben becomes a Hawkeye.

Yet you still felt the need to comment.

If it doesn't serve a purpose for you, then don't read it. Pretty simple if you ask me.

Here's an idea: let's start yet another thread on Ben Brust that sheds no new light or offers no new information. In fact, let's make it a daily occurrence.

YES, my thoughts exactly...Wisconsin is the one filing the appeal, not Ben. It is their desperation, not Ben's...I do think that it is a pretty disgusting attempt to get around a rule established to protect conference schools.

Tweet, I agree. Its like he is the only player out there. I bet if you go back about 6 months, these same posters were questioning why Lick would go after a mid-major like Brust. Can we just move on?

Having a bad day are we...reading posts is why we come here and commenting on dumb posts is the way of the majority in the forum world, so like it or leave is a better solution...

How are you supposed to know if it serves a purpose...if you don't read it?

And if Ben winds up being a Hawk after all of this, I'll still be glad he signed with my team...again...
