Loving some Gus and OT... Gus and Reggie were both on their feet for the end of regulation.
what a game. how many of those players are lick's?
None of the players are Licks! By all account Brad Stevens was the one recruiting and the one the players committed too and the master mind behind things it looks like now.
Kind of like how all the Iowa guys that came to school under the Lick regime were there because of coach Laval Jordan and in Fuller's case because of Cornette. Lick did not have any real connection to the recruits/players.
That's not entirely fair.... although you are correct on how some of the one on one relationships are handled, Lickliter deserves credit for a number of important Butler players. Norad, Howard, and Van Zant all came in under Lickliter and were utilized right away. Howard was Horizon League Freshman of the year, in fact, under Lickliter. I think Brad Stevens would be the first to give Lickliter credit on those three players in the current senior class. Stevens is doing a fantastic recruiting job, though. Next year's class looks very.... Butleresque. BTW, the city is going mad. I live two miles from Butler's campus, and the news is Butler will be entering Hinkle Fieldhouse at 1 AM EST... all the local stations are carrying it live. Reminds me of when my father took me to The Iowa Fieldhouse in 1980 to see the Hawks come home after winning their region final. Fun stuff.
Howard signed with Butler and didn't follow Lick. He committed to the school not Lick.
To be fair, didn't Lick tell his players not to transfer with him? Maybe I'm wrong, but I seem to remember him doing that.
If he did it turned out to be the first of his many mistakes.
