Bullock out Garmon wait and see

Bullock is most likely out for this weeks game per Kirk. Garmon is touch and go depending on practices this week.

Kirk might just be being optimistic and trying to keep the option open for CM to prepare for Garmon also.

For Garmon to be touch and go, perhaps the elbow wasn't dislocated.

I think anyone who saw the game on TV and saw him running off the field with his arm hanging and his elbow coming out the side of his arm instead of the back of his arm knows that he dislocated it. Now, not all dislocations are the same. Some result in significant tissue damage and some result in just minor damage. Could be that his was the latter. In any event, at this point, it's probably just a "pain" thing in that there's not much additional damage he's going to do so it's all about how much pain can he tolerate.

Wonder if having a dislocated elbow not even a week earlier could perhaps effect his ability to tuck and hold on to the ball effectively? Since we have Weisman and Malloy why would they play him? Its CM I think we will be fine without playing either one of them.

Dude, we've got the best runningback in the B1G starting for us! Who cares about Garmon and Bullock?

I have a dysplastic trochlea in both legs. Basically this means my kneecaps do not sit down into a groove like most people's do. It makes me more prone to dislocated kneecaps. I played football in high school and spent 8 years in the Army. I've dislocated my right kneecap five times and my left twice. I played football two weeks after it happened the first time.

The elbow has different anatomy, but it's a similar joint. The damage the dislocation causes can vary a great degree. Whether or not he can play depends on how much damage he did to ligaments and tendons (usually determined by an MRI). Which in Garmon's case I'm guessing was very little if he is being considered this week. If he didn't do any real damage then it's more a matter of getting the swelling to go down. If it's anything like a knee it hurts more than you can believe when it's dislocated, but once it's back in place most of the pain is gone. The joint is more prone to dislocating again in the few weeks after it happens because it was stretched out. It takes time for the elasticity to come back. They make braces that can help keep it secure, but for a RB I can see how this could be an issue.

The other startling thing about this photo is the size of Garmon's arm. That dude needs to do some curls. His biceps are noodles. He needs a strong protein diet, lots of calories and time in the weight room.

Hes a freshman. Most freshman come to Iowa undersized. I cannot remember the last freshman that came in and played that wasn't undersized. (Not counting non physical positions such as P or K)
