Budke, Doyle inducted into wrestling hall
From article:
DES MOINES --- Former Cedar Falls wrestler Josh Budke and coach Gene Doyle were inducted into the Iowa High School Athletics Association wrestling Hall of Fame on Saturday night in Wells Fargo Arena.
Budke was a three-time state champion and four-time placewinner as a Tiger from 1994-1997. He won titles in his final three seasons after placing fourth as a freshman, compiling a 155-11 career record and playing an instrumental role in the Tigers' team title in 1997.
"It's a great honor," Budke said. "It's given me an opportunity to look back and really reflect on when (I was) down here wrestling. I really appreciate the history. It's been fun to look back and appreciate that and appreciate the coaches that I had through this."
Budke wrestled at Iowa in college and was part of the Hawkeyes' 2000 national championship squad, earning All-Academic Big Ten honors in three seasons there.
