Bruno Mars to headline Super Bowl halftime

Overall, I like it. However, if the weather is a more typical Feb. 2 in New Jersey than the relatively mild winters of recent years, those horns in his band will be awfully cold and tinny sounding and that great hair will be covered by a stocking cap or ear muffs.

Not really my kind of music, but the dude is incredibly talented. I can't hate on any guy who has the ability to sing the pants off of about any lady they choose.

If they needed to have a diminutive, effeminate singer play the Super Bowl, just invite Prince back again.

See I'm in the age range where I could appreciate that... but Prince is getting old. Bruno Mars appeals to the younger market much better. It's just the way it is. As you get older you care less and less about a meaningless Super Bowl halftime show. Girls in their teens and in college will eat this one up.

Exactly. People that watch for the halftime show are only watching the game for the commercials anyway. Joe Sportsfan would probably rather see Dave Mustaine reunite with Metallica at halftime, but the NFL doesn't care because they are going to be watching the game no matter who is "performing."

Which coke head hip hop artist have they had in the past? No, I do not consider The Black Eyes peas hip hop. Run DMC aren't coke heads. Sidenote I believe weed is the drug of choice in the hip hop world. The cats in the south like the cough syrup, codiene(sp?) purple syrup crap.

When someone asks who a person is and someone else responds "just another coke head hip hop artist" they're not referencing prior acts in the super bowl. They're referencing other hip hop artists who are also coke heads. You can figure that out because he didn't mention anything about the super bowl and either did I in responding who he was.

The Super Bowl does employ a lot of coke heads.

Bruno Mars is most certainly a coke head.

Got it. i just skimmed through this thread i did not read every post......In that context it makes sense.
