Regardless of whether or not this helps land Cornell, I like this. He played well for us and spent some time in some NFL camps. If it does help us get Cornell, it means we also get Hilliard. That makes it a fantastic hire.

Nobody suggested that. GesterHawk said he would like the hire and IF it helps land them then it's a great hire, but no one said KF did it just to land recruit(s).

I never thought that KF would hire him based on his ability to bring one recruit to IC. That's not his M.O. I thinks Binns would be another good step forward in the arms race that has become college football recruiting. Iowa has done a goo job in making the recruiting personnel younger in the past few years with Brian, Levar, and Hernandez. Broderick would be another good addition to the staff

Guess I didn't know that when you were a GA you had to go all Helen Keller and become a mute when people were on campus. My bad. Apparently there are no official visits or camps where you might be able to have conversations with possible recruits.
