Brock enters portal

Brock Hardy has officially entered the transfer portal.....who's next??
Dix...and most everyone else on the team. Why not? If you get a good deal at a school you want to play for, why not do it? If the new coach can get you money to come back, that's a perfect scenario for the player. The only reason not to is if you're committed to Iowa and not necessarily a coach or system, which I'm not saying is a bad thing, or if you're waiting to see what the new coach has to say.

They are likely all to leave. It's ok. If we get DD, he's bringing talent with him. If we get McCollum, well, look how quickly he built the Drake roster?

If we're getting neither, fucking full panic

Read somewhere that DeVries has three 4-star recruits committed to WV next season. If he can bring them (i.e. if Iowa can find the $$ to pay them), plus his son, and Pryce and Koch stay...Hawks could be a force in a few years.

I thought Harding's game got quite a bit better this season, compared to last year. His distance shooting certainly improved, especially the last half of the season -- a PG who shoots 40% from treyland will definitely get a look from a lot of schools.
He deserves to be remembered for the dagger 3 with 15 seconds remaining, which knocked Ohio St. out of the BTen tourney AND the NCAA tourney!

Sweet Jesus, I am going back to church next Sunday

I did believe that Brock would transfer along with Freeman

Josh Dix will probably go to Creighton, and who could have blamed him to have
been playing for them this season

Pryce in the portal now... if we're being honest, Devries would make so much sense. Retain Gatens, who's already been on this staff. Tucker played with Pryce and Devries recruited him. The fact that WV is not in the dance right now could pay off long term if this ends up being their guy.

I get it that people want DeVries.

But it's a simple fact that any offer made to him is 100% going to have to come with a rock solid promise of 3-4 times the amount of NIL budget that Fran had before DeVries even thinks about it. Is Iowa going to be able to get that? DeVries ain't gonna come here for $1.5 million to spend on a whole roster, full stop. His kid alone would command almost all of that.

Even doubling this year's payroll wouldn't cut the mustard. Is quadrupling it even realistic to think about?

Quadruple would be a good start.

Lewis decommitted too.
Exactly why we shouldn’t have moved on from Fran at this juncture. The recruiting class will dissipate. The players on the roster will transfer and we will get a coach that made the same tournament we would have if not for firing Fran beforehand, regardless if they got snubbed or not. Lewis was going to be good.

Gotta figure Beth had that figured out before pulling the plug on Fran.

Bummer about Pryce. His first 1.5 years as a player at UI was underwhelming, and he didn't really live up to the high expectations. But something clicked the last month of the season, and he started playing like he actually belonged in the BTen. I was really hoping he would stay.
Even before NIL, it was standard for many of the players to leave a team after the coach was fired. I never really got that. I understand they were recruited by the coach, not the university, but geez, if the fired coach isn't moving to coach somewhere else, why wouldn't you stay? Stay or go, either way you're going to get a new coach...always seemed weird to me.
