Brian Ferentz

Oh, and this guy....

3. Rick Kaczenski, Nebraska. The former Notre Dame d-lineman coaches the Huskers d-front. And he gets after it with the ferocity of a drill sergeant.

ALL-HAIR TEAM
1. Kenny Bell WR Nebraska. “Afro Thunder” strikes again. Oscar Gamble and Lamont Sanford would be proud. Thanks for reminding me of the 1970s, Kenny!
2. C.J. Beathard QB Iowa. His long, blonde, flowing locks surely make the coeds weak-kneed when they walk across campus.

Difference is intense and insane. I saw Coach K go crazy on Clayborn and Ballard. Screamed profanities ( I was maybe 10 feet away ) Kroll came up and tried to talk to him and he started going off on Kroll the same way. Finally KF walked down, didn't say a word and everything got quite. Doubt you will ever see Brian act that way. JMO

IMO intensity is always good in a coach ... but overdoing the yelling and screaming tends to lose impact after awhile with this generation.

I agree, and yelling is one thing. Parker is known for yelling. But in my opinion to much swearing can get demeaning. A lot of coaches do it.

You can be intense while supporting and motivating, demanding better of someone and pushing them toward excellence. You can also be intense while demeaning and intimidating, tearing someone down and making them feel like a failure. It's all about the content.

Good point. Fran McCaffrey is a screamer, but somehow its a constructive scream.

As with any other communication, screaming has context and undertones, and, whether such context and undertones is good or bad, kids pick up on them.

I saw Parker do this to the entire secondary during the osu game last year after the Braxton Miller run around for 20 seconds then throw a touchdown play. yelled your all a bunch of f***ing quitters multiple times nothing remotely constructive. Kf let him vent then once Parker walked away he sidled on in and did the atta boy hand clap thing to get the secondary back to focusing on the game.

Have to pick the right times. During a game is not the right time for this.
