He'll live, just in a wheel chair or maybe frozen next to Ted Williams so he can come back in play in 3010.

His ego is looking to cash a check that his body may not be able to pay for. It's fun to watch him play, but he chose to come back again and again (and again). Like Urban Meyer, he does not seem to think what price his family may pay later as well.

I wonder what Barry Sanders thinks.
 
He certainly might live with crippling pain but it would seem the body systems necessary to sustain life will carry him well into old age. I would say the guy has phenomenal genes.
 
Brett Favre is the toughest football player that I have ever seen. I think he was playing on a broken ankle in the NFC Championship game last year.

Anyone playing at this level and taking the beating he has isn't playing because of he has an ego. Farve continue to play the game he loves and struggles to stop doing what he loves.

Wow! Played a majority of the game with 2 fractures in his ankle. That is unreal.

If he loves the game so much why did it take three players to visit him and an extra 3 million bucks for him to play? He plays it off as he is just a dumb country boy but he played the offseason perfect to get a bigger paycheck.

I would play it up for the extra money as well if I were his age. Farve was coming back without the circus show of those players claiming to go and grab him. Farve was returning, no doubt about it.

For Favre to play the last 6 games 2 years with the Jets with a torn bicep was all about ego. He didn't think anyone could possibly play instead of him. And, of course, there is the streak of starting games. His off season retiring and unretiring is all about ego. HE couldn't possibly see that the Packers may have a better option in Aaron Rodgers. His 'love' of the game seems to outweigh his family. And, his other problem (texting, voice mails, etc.) is all about ego. He was doing this while his wife had breast cancer.

There may not be an athlete with the ego the size of Brett Favre in the past generation of players in all sports (OK, Tiger is up there). There are many others as well. I am not fooled by his aw shucks persona one bit.
