Brands and Lofthouse.

I love college wrestling. It's like, my hobby. I love checking out other forums to see what's going on but, I enjoy the Hawkeye Nation most because of the being able to express your opinion without someone wanting to hand your balls to you. I'm taking off for a couple of weeks and I'm leaving wrestling behind until I get back. But, Do you think the reason Brands was ****** off, supposedly, with Lofthouse, was because of the quarterfinal lost to Storley which resulted in Minnesota getting seven points and Iowa none? I think so.:)

Im just glad Lofthouse managed to beat Storley 1 time!
Losing to a true freshman 4 times in a year would not sit well...

Luke Lofthouse wasnt very good at all until his senior year. (after a 2 year mission) Maybe it runs in the blood.

If Caldwell comes to the hawks Ethen should take his mission, comeback and compete for a title. JMO

What are the odds that Caldwell actually comes to Iowa? Either way, Ethan is going to have to prove that he CAN be relied on in a big match. Loosing to Storley at home and at nationals hurt. I think Brands was ticked that he can't rely on Ethan to come up with an important win. Don't get me wrong, he's a good wrestler with a lot of talent, but he needs to become more dependable. IMO

IMO Ethan is somewhat the poster child of what is going on with some of the wrestlers at iowa. we seem to have several guys that will turn their switch on and off during a match especially if they have a lead, rather than staying on the attack the entire match. so when they get into a match that is a little tight and maybe behind a point or 2 they can't get their head back into the match and attack thus leaving them on the losing end. Maybe some people would call this a bit of a head case, i call it just not wrestling hard for the full 7 min every time.

This. Wasn't it Lofthouse who stopped late in a match to look at the clock when he had a lead? Brands just glared at him (or whoever it was), and leaned back into his chair. Didn't say much at all to him after the match.

Yes, but Brands was even more upset with Ethen's 7th place match. I posted this elsewhere that the coaches left his match before its conclusion and Ethen ran to catch up with them at the tunnel. Brands had his finger shaking and it was definitely a short, heated, one-way conversation.

After Ethen's quarters match with Storley, Brands chucked Ethen's warmups at him and walked away...
