Brandon Wegher Makes Panthers Roster

I'm pumped to see Wegher in the pros. Credit to Brandon Wegher for fighting through his problems and reaching his team. I'll pray that the money and fame doesn't derail him.

Agree 100% Jon.

He clearly needed guidance! It's a great story!! He has owned up to those things. There would have been no way he would have lasted at Iowa with KF at the helm.

Happy for him! Really wish things would have worked out at Iowa.. he could have been the best ever that we had.

So, KF refused to allow Wegher to participate in the Iowa Pro day? I wondered why he was at the ISU Pro day. KF can be a spiteful *****.

When a team isn't playing well people always find things to whine about. Wegher doesn't merit taking part in pro day at Iowa, based upon how he conducted himself while he was there. Why should KF allow someone to take part in this when he has absolutely no affiliation with Iowa and in fact was a negative influence on the program?

And it isn't like KF ran him off. He ran himself off and then ran himself off at Oklahoma, if I recall correctly. And he probably got a shot there because of the Iowa connection to Stoops anyway.

It's a great story, but there is no need to complain that KF was somehow at fault for not letting Wegher take part in Iowa's pro day, unless you want to find something else to blame KF for.

Sorry, move along. Nothing to see here.

What you mean doesn't merit? See its views like this that I don't clearly get, seriously he doesn't merit? That makes me shake my head and laugh out loud. I don't give a **** about The pro day talk and if they reached out or not. That fact is BW Is a former Hawk whether you like it or not. Plenty to see here because everywhere you go and see BW name right now most make reference about him as Hawkeye and that is good for the program!! This program needs as much of that as they can get right now.

Time heals all wounds unless I guess your name is Thawki or KF. Get over it~

So Wegher wasn't allowed at Iowa Pro day? Who gives a flying fart?

This is a story of a kid who really made a mess of his life to start out, and now seems to have gotten a very rare opportunity to make something of himself. I'm happy for him.

you say this like you know the ins and outs of the whole deal. iowa/ferentz did nothing to harm this young man.

Not schocking.......he had a really good preseason. It was obvious that teammates and the Carolina coaching staff loved the guy.

The potential was there probably since grade school. Selected the perfect team to try and make a roster spot.

I agree. But I don't see how Wegher did anything to harm the Iowa program. James Ferentz had at least as many alcohol related arrests and Brian Ferentz was stealing public housing.
It's not like he was asking to come back and join the team or anything.

Wegher wasn't mature enough to succeed in college and as an athlete until he was about 22.

Good for him that he eventually figured it out, though. Most kids in that position don't.
