Bracket Possibilities reminded me of math homework

If the Iowa bus left Iowa City at 3:00 traveling at 70 mph, and the Purdue bus left West Lafayette at 5:00 traveling at 63 mph, who would get to Chicago first? My head hurts just looking at it. I'm just glad I don't have to take a test on it, and I can rely on others to give me the right answer. One thing is clear, the Hawks are going to get another crack at Purdue (assuming a win over Nebraska or Penn State). With a healthy AW. On a neutral court. What's not to like?

Thats easy. Iowa leaves at 3pm CDT. arrives at chicago at 6:10 pm CDT.

purdue leaves at 5pm EDT. Arrives at 7pm EDT, or 6pm CDT.

but wait, does west laffeyette switch to daylight savings time?

A hammer and a nail together cost $1.10. The hammer costs one dollar more than the nail. How much does the nail cost?

you guys are great...I never did get the darn math problem about the trains leaving two different places.

you guys are great...I never did get the darn math problem about the trains leaving two different places.

d=rt for train 1 and d=rt for train two. If one of the values of the three variables is the same for both trains, which it typically is, solve both equations for that variable, set the sides of the equations with the two non-equal variables equal to each other, by applying the transitive property twice, and solve. This method will work for most train problems. Got it? ;)

Of course, if the bus has a flat tire on the way to Chicago, and the Iowa team gets off the bus to get Super-Sized fountain drinks at the nearby convenience store, and then forgets to get back on the bus, it doesn't matter what time the Purdue bus gets there, because the Iowa team never got there. That's the answer to the question.

The Iowa team wore cement blocks to the pedo state game and subsequently lost to a horse crap team. Purdue lolled their arses off.

DAMMIT! OUR GUYS READ THIS THREAD AND WERE TRYING TO FIGURE IT OUT DURING THE GAME AND I EVEN SAW WOODBURY STANDING AROUND COUNTING ON HIS FINGERS! IT'S ALL YOUR FAULT, HOMES!
