Box score

I guess it's just something I like to take a look at after every game. Against Illinois our bench got out scored in less minutes and was what really hurt us.

Against NW we got some good production off the bench... mostly thanks to Uthoff's 17

NW beat us with 6 players, all of which had at least 8 or more points. Their 7th man only played 2 minutes.

We had 4 starters combine for 81 minutes and 7 points!!! With Ogelsby, we have 100 minutes combine for 7 points.

That's unbelievable. I believe that talent is a big issue for the hawks right now. Becuase true talent isn't so inconsistent.

Out rebounded them by 8. They outscored us by 15 points from 3 PT FG.

Just my thoughts after lookin at the box score. Anything else jump out to anybody else?

Yeah, the talent is a big issue for the hawks right now. They need to bring that talent back from the team that was 19-6 after the game at Penn State. Perhaps they got left behind.

19-6 looks good... but maybe we should look a lil bit further into it... 8 of the 19 were damn near gimmes.

North Carolina Wilmington (9-23)
Nebraska Omaha (16-14)
Maryland-Eastern Shore (6-24)
ACU (11-20)
Penn (8-20)
Drake (15-16)
Fair Dickinson (10-21)
AR- Pine Bluff (13-18)

Dave Sobolewski scored 10 points last night. That's about 34% of all the 29 points he scored in B1G games this year.

I've come to the conclusion that its not that we lose because shoot bad. It's that we do what it takes to shoot just bad enough to lose. If we start to get a lead and pull away, we start shooting bad until they catch up. If we are in a close game at the end, we can't buy a basket until its to late.

Same with our defense. If we are behind and need to catch up, our defense is fine. Once we get a lead, our defense is just bad enough to let them catch up. We do whatever it takes to find a way to lose.
