Bowl scheduling

I just don't get the logic (logic and NCAA don't mix) behind the way they do things. I just looked at the upcoming bowl schedule and they have 4 big ten bowls going head to head at the same time on Jan.1. I hate the fact that they spread the worthless games all the way to the championship game that is damn near Feb, but seriously why would you cluster an entire conference that way.

Again, people making posts and are clueless.

The NCAA does not schedule bowls. The schedule is determined by the bowl, the participating conferences, the sponsors, & most importantly ABC/ESPN TV.

If you don't like the Big Ten bowl schedule complain to Barta & Delaney. I don't like the Big Ten's New Years Day bowl schedule either. But at least I know enough to blame Iowa & the Big Ten for the crappy schedule.

Following is the NCAA's bowl certification application:

OK smart guy, if you were really that smart then you would understand that what I am talking about is not the paper pushers that actually work in a NCAA office, but college football in general. It doesn't matter who schedules it, it is highly illogical. Now if you want to take off your "Im smarter than you glasses" and respond to my point, that is fine, but the "you don't know what you are talking about" stuff won't fly with me. If someone says the government is screwing things up, that doesn't mean that they are talking about the local policemen, they are just making a general statement, but I guess I will just list all entities involved in decision making from this point forward and when complaining about a bad burger I will list all parties involved from the cow to the cashier.

Your post was critical of the NCAA. If it was about bowl scheduling in general, I would have agreed. It is illogical. However, it's not the NCAA's fault. Place blame on the appropriate parties.

Also, I never said I was smarter than you. I just said you did not know the facts. There is a difference between intelligence & knowledge. Hell, your IQ may be much higher than mine, but if you don't know the facts, intelligence is meaningless.

Dude, you should go read the first few pages of the Coker thread and see if Texas reminds you of anyone.

Actually I was critical of the bowl scheduling, (see the title) and threw a well deserved zinger about the ridiculous NCAA in () to keep it seperate. Show me in the post where it says the NCAA scheduled the bowls. But if you want to be that guy and hijack threads with silly stuff like this, go right ahead if it makes you feel better. Your intention was to take a short quick post to show the crappy schedule and prove you have more knowledge than me in an extremely condescending way, which is not really a good assumption since most people don't post everything they know about a subject in every post they make. Just a tip for the future: not mentioning something does not equal not knowing.

Anyways, as a big ten fan, it sucks that b/c of sponsors, school presidents, ADs, commissioners, tv execs, camaramen, ad agencies, consumers, stadium owners, unions, peanut distributors, vendors, etc. (encompassing everyone I may have once worked near or around college football) I am going to have to flip back and forth between 4 games that I want to watch.

NYD is going to suck having to flip around the TV. It's a traveshamockery for those games to not be spread out more.

I agree with Boat.

Somebody, whether the BigTen, NCAA, ABC, GravyJones... somebody should have the sense to schedule these games back to back, rather than concurrently. I may have sat on my *** for all of the games if they were not overlapping.
