Bowl Possibilties

There are a number of bowls that we have the opportunity to go to. I'm going to give my percentages as to what bowl destination I think we will get. I think it will be fun for everyone to chime in, especially after the Michigan & Nebraska game.

Little Ceasers-5%(BIG 8)
Heart of Dallas-34%%(BIG 7)
Texas-52%(BIG 6)
Gator-9%(BIG 5)

I would love to win both and go to the Gator Bowl...

My take
pizza bowl - 1%
Heart of Dallas - 37%
Texas - 49%
Gator - 13%

Some thoughts before I share my percentages:

1. I think the Big Ten will only have 7 bowl eligible teams. Penn State is banned, and I think Northwestern, Illinois, Indiana, and Purdue will all fall short of the 6-win threshold.
2. I think the Big Ten will have two BCS teams. Either Ohio State or Michigan State will go to the Rose Bowl, and either 12-1 Ohio State, 11-2 Michigan State, or 10-2 Wisconsin will receive a BCS at-large bid, probably to the Orange Bowl.

Given those two driving forces, I think Iowa is competing with Minnesota, Michigan, and Nebraska for the Outback Bowl, BWW Bowl, Gator Bowl, and Meineke Car Care Bowl of Texas.

Outback: 20% (If Iowa wins and Minnesota loses each of the next two weeks, I think the Hawks will be most attractive of the four teams.)

BWW Bowl and Gator Bowl: 30% Each (If Iowa loses either game and/or Minnesota wins either of their games, Iowa falls one or two spots.)

Meinekie: 20% (If Iowa loses both of their games, I think the Hawkeyes end up in Houston.)

I know this sounds bad but I will be happy with any bowl right now. Especially what happened to my Hawks & Vols last yr.

There is a 0% chance of the Pizza Bowl. Even if Northwestern or Indiana would somehow finish 6-6 and the Big Ten fills all bowl slots, there would be no way the Heart of Dallas (which has the next to last pick before the Pizza Bowl) would pass on Iowa for either of those 2. But as it is neither of those two will end up 6-6 so the Pizza Bowl won't even get a chance at a Big Ten team.

If Iowa wins out, they have a very good shot at the Outback....we will be the clearcut #4 team in the league...and with two BCS bowls, that would shove Wisky to Capitol and Iowa to Outback. Give Iowa a shot at South Carolina...I think we could take them...they would be ****** about losing the SEC Title game, and ole ball coach would be getting tee times.

What makes you think there will be two big ten teams going to the BCS? Why wouldn't they take a Clemson or Stanford ahead of Wisconsin?

Wisconsin was robbed of a win at ASU, and has been on fire lately. MSU also played a close game early in the season with very questionable officiating. If they win out, and lose in a close one against tOSU, they could also be considered. Stanford or Clemson could go, but you also have to take the fan bases into consideration. If you could make legitimate cases for all 4 teams, meaning they are all ranked highly enough to be considered for an "at large" BCS bid, which fan bases will travel better?
Also, of the ACC, Big 10, and PAC 12, only one conference will only have 1 BCS team, the others will get 2.

I agree. I personally think its going to happen by Michigan State pulling the upset in Indy
I would like to see that. I think MSU could absolutely hang with tOSU. I also think that if Wisconsin had another shot at tOSU they would win. But that ship has sailed.

Agree, and I would love to see another Iowa beat down of South Carolina at the Outback Bowl like in 2009. Let's take care of business this weekend.

Imagine if we had East/West divisions instead of Legends and Leaders.

I'm sure most don't care, but since there is a high likelihood of playing an SEC team, here are the SEC schools we've never played (per winsipedia):
Alabama (lol)
Auburn
Ole Miss
Mississippi State
Georgia
Kentucky
Vanderbilt

If we play a Big 12 school, It'll be one we've met. The only ones we haven't met are Baylor and West Virginia.

Not to be not picky, but none of your statistical estimation are correct. All should include no bowl game. Maybe at 1%. It's happened before :)

An undefeated Fresno State or Northern Illinois will take 1 of the BCS spots.
Still think an SEC team will get the other BCS spot. Sugar Bowl would love to have A&M.
