Boozer to Bulls

Obviously the Bulls realized LeBron was coming to town.

I don't mind this signing. I'd much rather pay Boozer 80 mil than Amare 100. Hopefully they're able to pull off another signing or a trade for a SG.

Also, they still have enough cap room to bring in Lebron, but I still doubt it happens.

That pretty much locks down Lebron going back to Cleveland unless something crazy happens with Miami.

I know I was bashing on this in another thread but now that I have gotten a chance to review this deal, the Bulls are not bad shape at all in settling for Boozer. They are getting a veteran Power Forward to play underneath with Noah and Deng. With Rose running the point all the Bulls need is to find a solid shooter to play the SG position and they will have a team that can compete with anyone.

Actually the Bulls have a better chance of getting LeBron by making this move because it shows LeBron there are pieces here to win now and adding a high quality player in Boozer could sway James. It's a long shot, but the only hope for the Bulls.

hmmmmmm......

"The Bulls are still in the running for LeBron James, who is going to make an announcement Thursday on ESPN. Chicago has enough cap space to take on a max contract, and a source close to Boozer said he is going to reach out to James about joining him in Chicago."

"Boozer said he is going to reach out to James about joining him in Chicago"

If this was to happen the Bulls would easily be the favored team in the east.

I'd be shocked if LeBron goes anywhere tomorrow night. If he stays in Cleveland (why?), what will the Cavs do? The East has gotten significantly better.

They would for sure be the team to beat in the east if this happens. I'm just not going to hold my breath. I'd love King James to come to the Windy City, but I'm not going to hold out much hope for it.

Ok, so Boozer's going to reach out to James to join him in Chicago...didn't Boozer crap out on James and the Cavs a few years ago? Why would LeBron even take that call?

That's been my thought as well, but I think it happened before LeBron actually joined the team and Boozer left right after he was drafted??? But I'm not sure. Either way, I guess if Lebron just wants to win he could get over the fact Boozer stiffed Cleveland especially when Lebron would be about to do the same.

If Lebron were to join Chicago, the only issue would be what to do with Deng who certainly can't play the 2. Hopefully they could trade him for a viable SG.

no one is giving up anything of value for Deng, Boozer and Lebron played together for one season, espn doesnt like to give any information that would discount a scenario in this Lebronathon they are running

Yeah, I couldn't remember exactly when Boozer stiffed the Cavs...I guess the only reason for James to say "F him" would be if he took it personally, even though he'd be doing the same thing to the franchise and city if he leaves.

I would not do anything with Deng but have him come off the bench to spell Lebron and Boozer. That would be a nice luxury to have.

The East still goes through Boston.

Boozer left after playing at least one season with James. He definitely did crap on the Cavs big-time. "King" James may do the same to the city that made him in less than 24 hours.

Good to see you're coming around. The Bulls need to go after Mike Miller or Anthony Morrow now that it looks like Ray Allen is resigning with Boston, or just hold out hope that LeBron comes here.

Bulls need to add:

Morrow, Reddick,Brad Miller,AC Law.

Rotation:

Rose,Law
Morrow,Reddick
Deng,James Johnson
Boozer,Taj Gibson
Noah,Miller

That crew can challenge for #3 in the East behind the Heat and Magic, and might be a better playoff team than the Heat who must find bigs or they will find out the hard way next spring that in the playoffs it is all about the team with the best bigs.
