In the movie The Waterboy, Adam Sandler's character Bobby Boucher plays for the SCLSU Mud Dogs. This week, I've seen a lot of references to Boucher when people are discussing Louisiana Monroe. The only problem is that SCLSU stands for South Central Louisiana State University and ULM is in northeast Louisiana. Louisiana Lafayette is the school that SCLSU best represents. Lafayette is in the heart of the Cajun bayou in south central Louisiana. Also, as it is clear that the Louisiana Cougars are analogous to the LSU Tigers and that Louisiana and SCLSU are neighboring schools, it is important to note that ULL and LSU are just over an hour away from each other and are equally accessible to Bobby, who lives in the rural swamp lands. Between Lafayette and Baton Rouge is one of the largest areas of swamp land in America. Clearly SCLSU is a representation of ULL and not ULM.
I'm glad I got that off my chest.
