BOB to Houston. Does Penn State take steps backwards???

^^I agree unless they make a great hire. If they stumble it is a test case of what happens when you make the wrong hire.

I think BOB would have had PSU in good shape in two years if he stayed.

As far as PSU, I think they will take a step backwards. Making two good hires in row is difficult.
 
They had/have their proverbial backs pinned for the next 2-5 years without going through a coaching change. They are going to have an extremely rough time, even with a good hire (which OBrien was) at this point in their rebuild.

Can't blame him at all. Can they find another great coach just like that? Ouch. Sure glad it's not us.
 
Jim Tressel? Well, maybe not with his past. I know the head coach at Miami was mentioned during Miami's bowl game as a possible replacement.
 
Just a huge loss for PSU. it appears he could have done some great things once they were past the sanctions. It had to be more than just money cause IMO PSU should have thrown some serious money to keep him.
 
Man I never seen that coming he had Penn heading in the right direction. I say it will probably be be hard to get a good coach right now seeing how their on probation and stuff
 
They have two years probation left, so at least the new coach will be able to see the light at the end of the tunnel. I could totally see Schiano being hired.

Tressel has a show cause through the end of 2016 season, no way he'll get a job before then. At that point, he'd be 65 years old. Very doubtful he'll ever be a Div-I head coach.
