From article:

“Oh, I’ve thought about it a lot,â€￾ Stoops said the other day. “That deal up there, that was scary and could have been devastating, tragic, for the young guy. Geez, it hit him. Can you imagine if that hits him in the back of the head, or even the shoulder pad or anything? That’s a lot of force and a heavy object.â€￾

“I mean, if it hits someone, not a player, a referee or someone on the sideline?â€￾ Stoops asked. “Wow. That could have been horrible.

“I think they need to really, for the health of players and safety of everybody, really need to take a look at that.

“I couldn’t believe it when I saw that thing coming down. I saw it fairly early. It was like you wanted to do something and you couldn’t do anything about it.â€￾

Actually no, Texas has done the same thing to us and I have no hate for Mack Brown. Stoops is a pompous *****. However...he is right about the camera.

He's a better coach than Kirk Ferentz.

Of course he is. I don't know how he overcomes the recruiting issues that come with the Oklahoma program. Must be terrible to take all those 4-5 star recruits and make something out of them.

I will tell you this...he grooms guys to become head coaches. They just suck when they go out on their own.

That being said, he wins the big games.

He does????

Please note: Comment made with extreme sarcasm.

Bob Stoops in is early coaching career was known as "Big Game Bob", but after a series of big game blowouts at his expense...humor is often directed at his expense regarding this early coaching career moniker.

In effect, I was really saying...he doesn't win the big games.

Feel free to ask questions.

Noted and appreciated.
Please note: I'm kinda playing along with what ya said...

Sorry...didn't get that from the comment. I'm actually a fan of Stoops...just different challenges at Oklahoma than at Iowa, so the comment about his coaching ability being greater than Ferentz, well, I kind of have issue with it. Difficult comparison.

I could swear I was reading an interview with Spinal Tap about their various stage malfunctions...
