Blocks on the season

Our back up point gaurd is giving ore 7' 1" starting center a run for his money on blocks. Gabe is beating Woody in every line except for Assist ( 13-6), Personal fouls (36-23) and minutes played. I know Woody had a great game the other night in the loss. I would like to see Gabe take a few more of his minutes in the coming games to see what he can do! Just my opinoin.

Only when Gabe develops that deadly lob hook five feet from the basket.
 
It's a shame we're just now getting around to a thread comparing Woodbury and Olaseni. I can't wait to see what people think. I have no idea where the regular posters on here are going to land on this issue.
 
Woodbury isn't a shot blocker and doesn't need to be. Woodbury was controlling the lane on D against the clowns and had a good game both defensively and rebounding. Just because you caren't blocking shots doesn't mean you are being effective.

Honestly I'd like to see us play more without either one on the floor but there's just no good way to do it.

Yeah, that was some great defense when he scored an assist for isu on an outa bounds play.:rolleyes:
 
They're both going to get minutes based on match ups and fouls...I'm still finding myself wondering why Gabe wasn't red-shirted instead of averaging about 27 seconds per game of playing time 2 years ago. Not PO'd about it, just wishing we were watching a red-shirt sophomore instead of a junior right now.

ain't that the truth. eventually his production and growth will level off, but at this time the kid has a pretty great upside and could turn into something special.

Exactly...and even if it levels off at where he is right now, we'd still have a good player for another year.

Can I come and visit you...like, right away? We are going to get up to 9" of snow today and tomorrow.
