Anyone heard of him? I just saw on Hawkeye Heaven on FB that he has committed. Here's what I found googling his name anyway. Looks like a man amongst boys playing at that level of ball.... Guess he's a good basketball player too.

Cool. He has good hands and you can't teach being 6'6. He may be alittle raw but in couple years ya never know how good a kid can develop. He has what you can't teach or improve on with coaching anyway so that's a start.

So...where are you from MrEHawk...oh wait, I know, Emmetsburg, a once mighty football powerhouse that sent a certain Mr. Bruce Nelson to Iowa and the League after four great years. But if you or I were not from there, it could be called no where ville, too. We all would like to see big name recruits, but I also know that is not happening, so accept it and support the players that we are getting.

Also better accept a 3-9 season coming up because that's what it is looking like. The return on investment with this program has dried up. The last 3 recruiting classes reflect what is Iowa football and the football coach is okay with it. There is no sense of a will to win anymore with this crew.

My mistake, your name is where the place confusion comes from as it is the Emmetsburg E-Hawks, but you made me feel better as I was questioning how someone from Emmetsburg could be so...well I won't say it as it might get me in trouble...as for your support or lack there of...I think the Hawks are better off without your support...with supporters like you, who needs opponents...to use a play on a great ole saying...

We're not seeing big name recruits because of the moron in charge. He has everyone convinced we're little ole Iowa, we're not sexy, we're the underdog that works harder than blah, blah, friggin blah. Why would any recruit with any talent want to come play for a gutless, wimp of a coach like that? They don't, that's why half our class is filled with fallbacks from Iowa that have no other offers. Talented players want to go play with other talented players where they actually have a chance to win. Not a bunch of guys that have zero offers, and just hope to be able to keep games close. You think we're bad now, just wait till 3 years from now when these recruits Need to make an impact. It's going to be brutal, and we'll have a tougher schedule.

Not flaming but how do we then go about recruiting "winners"? I'm a believer that the recruits brought in are a reflection of the previous few years. I just don't see anything we've done recently pull in these elite recruits. I have no problem with him taking a "we're the underdog that works harder..." because quite honestly there is nothing sexy about the state of the program and I can't see any elites thinking we'll compete for a championship. I agree recruiting is about selling a product, but you can only BS so much before the kids see right through it. Unfortunately I think we're at a stage in the game where the only way we get attractive "sexy" recruits that everyone else is after is by our undesirables having success on the field.

Even with a new coach I think we'd have a ways to go to being a contender for the coveted recruits. The new facilities help but I think it ultimately comes down to wins and contending.
