Biggest Hawkeye Draft Day Surprises

Just curious to see what everybody's biggest surprises for Iowa was for the draft. Here's mine w/ranking:

Ricky going in the 5th-1st. He was projected by many to be 2nd to 3rd round. Not just Kiper, pretty much everybody. Glad to see he ended up where he did.
Donahue not getting drafted-2nd. Almost everything I read had him as the 1st punter. Apparently the Falcons most certainly didn't taking him in the 6th round of all places. No worries for him as he will be playing next year.
Vandervelde going in the 5th-tied for 3rd. Many said he was probably not getting drafted to very late.
Klug going in the 5th-tied for 3rd. Same as Vandy.
Sash going in the 6th-5th. Based on ratings, knew he was going late, but got a little scary to wait this long.
Clayborn going 20th Overall-6th. He was projected most recently by many in the late 20s. Granted small change compared to the others, but big difference and glad to see it.
Ballard going in the 4th-7th. Hard to feel shocked that a player projected mostly in the 2nd drop to the 4th after testing for weed.
All other Iowa players not getting drafted-last for obvious reasons

You've got a pretty good list there...I might put Allen Reisner not getting a look ever-so-slightly above the bottom line of your post. Given the Iowa track record at TE I was a little surprised he didn't get picked. But it wasn't a huge surprise because his combine was very poor.

Good point. I was thinking about it after his poor combine. I was hoping that he could have taken it up a notch with the Iowa pro day, but he didn't. With that, it seemed that he wouldn't get drafted.

That being said, he ain't out of the mix yet. If you are in the NFL and/or watch the draft on ESPN, you know that Iowa develops talent.

The lockout really raised the stakes on getting drafted. In a normal year, Reisner would probably have been signed as a free agent before the end of the weekend. Now, he just has to wait, and wait, and wait. How much of a shot at making a team are these undrafted guys going to have if they don't have access to team facilities, coaching, etc. all summer?

I know it seems ridiculous to make the draft even larger, but I really wish they would have added a round or two this year only in response to the lockout situation. I wonder if it was ever even considered.
