Big Ten Qb's in the NFL - Stanley hype

Interesting list on the last time a Big Ten QB won an NFL game for each school. Yikes. Might Stanley be the best NFL tool-set QB from the Big in some time?

This year should be a very good one for draft eligible Big Ten quarterbacks. It will be very interesting to see how it plays out. Seven former Big Ten quarterbacks with touchdowns last season isn’t terrible though, I wonder what the breakdown for the entire league is by conference.

Well, Kerry Collins was the last Big Ten quarterback taken in the 1st round back in '94 or '95 (can't remember which)

I'd like to pump the breaks a tad on Stanley. Very promising sophomore campaign despite little experience at receiver, is the prototypical NFL qb size. I think he has NFL potential for sure, but remember, a couple of years back, Mitch freaking Leidner was a potential 1st round pick going into his senior season...

Leidner was a GD fullback playing QB, that's how intelligent MN is. Bad comparison.

Yeah I don't remember him being all that and a bag of chips. Especially when thinking NFL.
I think Nate has a great chance. I think he is going to need another year, unless our wr's are 500% better. Which sort of leads into the question, if Nate can make the throws, make the right reads, feel the game, I would think we have the chance to have a few te/wr who might get looks as well. (Assuming the passing game shows up over the next few years). We have Fant of course, but I suspect there are going to have to be a couple more that have a chance to make a name for themselves.
Ultimately, idk if Nate goes 1st round. I can say an awesome w/l record this year is going to do nothing but propel a few people's stock. From qb, to te, to dl and lb.

It's true that Stanley has a gun and his accuracy will be vital, but more importantly he will be the glue that holds this team together.

I agree and I never thought that about him either. Just pointing out that he was, inexplicably to those that saw him play, very high on mock draft boards going into his senior year.

Mitch freaking Leidner without Maxx freaking Williams is akin to Pamela freaking Anderson without Huge freaking Breasts.

Wow, that's hard to believe Kerry Collins was the last Big Ten QB drafted in the 1st round, if that's accurate. I looked and Drew Brees was the 1st pick of the 2nd round. So a lot of folks missed on Brees and Brady.

Dilly Bar is the only one I can think of........

No, he's absolutely right. People WERE pegging him about six notches above his "pay grade". I attribute that to a year in which he had Maxx Williams. Much like we will rightly wonder if Stanley can have success without Fant if Fant leaves early.

maxx needed two more x's to help out that lost cause leidner.

Stanley is > Leidner without question.

Yep. I think the message should be he's on track. He has a lot of the natural attributes. He grows some of the skills, he has a future.
