Big Ten overload on NYD not looking so smart

If Wisconsin loses, the Big Ten might want to look at rearranging when some bowls are played, on top needing to change the division names and logo. :(

Agreed. The Ticket City and Gator Bowls shouldn't be on NYD anyway, and the Outback is pushing it, IMO. But 5 NYD games, and we may very well go 0-5? Ouch.

They did tell these teams that they were allowed to bring their defense to the game too? This is terrible. Come on Wisky, go Buckeyes. Thank you Iowa and Illinois.

How did the Big Ten do on NYD 3 years ago? ESPN will bring it up all the time next year but people will forget. Win or lose I don't think it is a bad thing for any conference when you have teams playing in 5 of the 6 games.

Three games at the same time was not a good decision by anyone. Big 10 fans had to choose one of the three to watch. This has to hurt ratings.

Definitely agree. I'm disappointed B-10 isn't doing better, but would you rather have the Big 12 in all these games? I think not!

I don't want the Big 12 taking those spots. I don't think those spots should be available to begin with. Some of those bowls aren't even remotely worthy of a NYD spot. Half the conference played on NYD. That, ladies and gentlemen, is ridiculous.

Thank you for this thread.

Classic example of what's wrong with the BCS and the whole bowl structure.

How in the world can it be good for the league to show 3 games from the same league basically at the same time?

January 1st games used to mean something. Not anymore.

I'm thinking maybe these other teams in the Big 10 that qualified for bowls should just stay home and let Iowa and OSU play their games for them. It seems lately that Iowa and OSU are the only ones who show up to play.

January 1st is such a feel good saying when it means absolutely nothing. Big ten teams who felt like they could just waltz into their games got demolished and those that fought hard and practiced earned their victorys, so far Illinois and Iowa are the only 2 to have done so.

OSU has lost three of their last four - two of which were in NC game -

although being one of the only to win it is like when we beat SC a couple of years ago - "every team lost but Iowa" then it actually brings our specific school some good PR - albeit not the best PR all things considered.

OSU has lost 3 of their last 4, but with the exception of the '06 title game, they showed up to play. Decent game against LSU, and played a great game against Texas before beating Oregon. Northwestern also has "shown up" in their games. They just always seem to lose in a nailbiter.
