I know a lot of people are discussing potential Big Ten rivalry games for the end of the season, but I think it would be great if the Big Ten conference schedule opened with annual rivalry games as well. Let's say the divisions go East & West:
East - Penn State, Ohio State, Michigan, Michigan State, Indiana & Purdue
West - Iowa, Nebraska, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Illinois & Northwestern
I'm thinking what if week 5 (week 4 when the Big Ten goes to 9 conference games) we have:
11 AM - Nebraska v Minnesota
- Illinois v Indiana
- Northwestern v Purdue
2:30 PM - Iowa v Wisconsin
- Michigan v Michigan State
7:00 PM - Penn State v Ohio State
Then at the end of the regular season the other rivalry games:
11 AM - Minnesota v Wisconsin
- Indiana v Purdue
- Northwestern v Illinois
2:30 PM - Iowa v Nebraska
- Penn State v Michigan State
7:00 PM - Ohio State v Michigan
Am I the only one who thinks having a set Big Ten conference opener rivalry game would make the whole nation tune in for another Saturday of very enjoyable match-ups?
