Big Ten Network Tour

It was a decent show. Wind still howling. They really didn't say anything that their tweets didn't say. But the one clip they showed of McCall does show how big he is. He looks massive.

It needs to be an hour long. It really wasn't even worth watching.

It has been an hour long in the past, and they used to show a significant amount of practice action. I agree, the half hour version did nothing for me. Especially since I had seen all the tweets Revsine, DiNardo, and Griffith put out last week. They didn't talk about anything they hadn't tweeted about.

One thing I did notice, however, that couldn't have been picked up through any other outlet. When Vandenberg's name got mentioned for the first time, Griffith absolutely lit up. He got a huge smile and started nodding his head, which lends you to believe Griffith thinks Vandy could really be special (I do too!).

I'm still waiting for the opportunity to watch more practice take place. In the past we got to see 7 on 7 drills and stuff like that and this year was alright, but I'd rather see the players practicing then simply get to hear about them. IMO it's too difficult to put everything into a half hour show and BTN kind of dropped the ball by shortening it from the hour it used to be.

BTN ruined the format by taking out the video of practice drills and their analysis of said drills. It's too bad as the show is now a waste of time to watch.

Agreed. It was pretty pointless. I watched just to get my fix but walked away pretty unfulfilled.

Agreed on the 1/2 hour issue. What is the point of traveling all over the midwest, setting up all the equipment and spending the day on campus just to give the same talking points given in every article out there--New D Line questionable, New QB good, O-line good, RB depth encouraging. Pointless.

Extending the show to an hour and producing more original content would take away precious time from replaying the same old games over and over and over and over and over and OVER again.

The show is a complete waste of time and money this year, imo. I taped it last night and if I had known it was going to be so pathetic I would not have wasted my time watching it. Plus there was almost as much ad time as there was show. Pathetic excuse for a preview show of any kind.

I am wondering if the coaches put the ixnay on the practice video stuff.

I can buy that. But it wouldn't be too difficult to fill up another half hour with interviews of other players and coaches along with some better, more thought out analysis than the cardboard stuff we saw last night. I think the whole thing with them commentating on the practice in the past was a bit over-the-top and this year was a lot underwhelming. There is a happy middle somewhere. Hopefully next year is better.

The problem is there was nothing to extend. It was originally an hour long last season. So maybe they just needed the extra half hour so they could show the replays in their entirity so that they didn't have to shorten the games.
