Big Ten expansion question

With all the talk of the Big Ten adding teams, I seem to recall that to be a member of the Big Ten you had to have wrestling. I thought I heard that when a lot of teams dropped wrestling due to Title IX and that rule helped some of the teams keep it. I haven't heard anyting about it recently, so I wanted to see if I was making it up?

I doubt it because Texas does not have a wrestling team and the Big Ten officially sat down with the University.

For a team like Texas...I'm sure they would bend the rules. Remember we bent the rules academically to get PSU in the conference. This is another reason to me that I have a feeling we will end up with Nebraska as our next member. They have a decent wrestling team most of the time and they are academically above where PSU was when they joined us. Obviously things have changed and PSU(top 40 school now) is much higher than Nebby is in regards to academics now...see what the B10 does for ya.
