The Goofers in action tonight against Northern Illinois, up 28 with ten minutes to go. Their record will imiprove to 8-3.

Overall, I'm disappointed with the Big Ten's showing in non-conference. I was really expecting Michigan State to challenge the big boys and win, but they didn't, and they got pushed at home by Gonzaga. Also, I thought that Indiana would be much better than they were last year...guess not. Topic for anything Big Ten basketall related.

I agree that the Big Ten has been a bit underwhelming in non-conference play so far.
Lot of parity in the country. Now, some teams are gathering steam, like the illini, and Purdue, tho.

I think considering that NW lost star Coble and Ryan before the season, there can be little doubt they are the surprise team with wins over ISU and in the ACC challenge.
Their two frosh guards are surprisingly good, with Crawford scoring 35 points the other nite in less than 25 minutes on the floor! Shurna and Thompson have been good for them also.

Hoffbarger is ripping it up for Minny now that he is starting.
Leuer and Hughes have starred for wisky.
The illini frosh guards have looked very good at times.
Purdue misses Lew Jackson, but seem to be adjusting.
PSU seems erratic, and blew that game the other nite to Va Tech, but overall, Battle will keep them competitive.
IU is so young, they can go out and beat Pitt ,then lose to a bad team. They look skinny and young but talented.
Michigan is the biggest disapointment, imo. Not sure why they do not seem to win as much as they look like they should,so far.
OSU is struggling without Turner, who is the best player in the league, and a 1st team AA,imo...no surprise.
Injuries have really hurt the league already.
I think it is a pretty solid league, but again, with no super teams to compete with UNC,KU or Texas.

MSU up by 13 with 14 minutes..over IPFW and Dane Fife.
Michigan down by 15 in second half vs KU.

Later today...NW vs Stanford,Iowa vs Drake,Ball St vs PU, Illini vs Georgia, IU vs UNC-Central, and PSU vs Gardner Webb.

Big Ten should go 6-1 in those games with KU over Michigan.
