are going to cause us problems, IMO. I thought I'd compile a list of teams that would be difficult for us. Please share your thoughts accordingly. Or even point out how wrong I am. I am not saying these are "losses". I'm only listing the guards from each team.
Illannoy - Rayvonte Rice (18 ppg), Malcolm Hill (13.4 ppg) , Aaron Crosby (13.4 ppg), Kendrick Nunn (9.8 ppg) and Ammad Starks (9.6 ppg). All are averaging double figures. The good news is - they have Egwu inside and that is it.
Indiana - Blackmon (20 ppg) Yogi ( 18.8 ppg) and Robert Johnson (12.4 ppg). Williams and Perea are capable inside players. The good news is - Crean is the coach.
Maryland - Melo Trimble (14.6 ppg) D Wells (16.2 ppg). Layman has G/F skills at 6'9. I know they are picked to finish low in the BIG but I'm not sure why. Their roster is loaded with 4* talent.
MSU - Forbes (9.8 ppg) Trice and Valentine. Need I say more.
Michigan - Irwin (18.4 ppg), Lavert (16.2 ppg) and Walton (13.8 ppg). The good news is - They have very little under the basket.
Minnesota - Hollins (12.4 ppg), N Mason (11.6 ppg), C Morris (10.8 ppg) and Mathieu. They also have a big body inside.
Nebraska - Webster (8.3 ppg) Pettway (20.8 ppg) and Shields (23.5 ppg). The good news is - that appears to be all they have.
OSU - Russell ( 19 ppg), Scott (9.8 ppg) , K Williams (8.5 ppg). There really is no good news. They have Loving and Thompson that are G/Fs and they get a lot of production from multiple players.
PSU - Garner (11.3 ppg) Thorpe (8.5 ppg) and Newbill (24.5 ppg). The good news is - thats about all they have.
Purdue - Stephens ( 12.3 ppg) and Davis (10.7 ppg). They also have Haas and Hammonds on the inside. It's not outstanding guard play but I thought it was notable because they have 2 Centers that can play in Haas and Hammonds.
Wisconsin - Nothing to say here.
So the way I see it, That's 10 or 11 teams in conference that have strength and production in the back court. Which is definitely our weakness.
Clemmons (8.5 ppg), Gesell (5.5 ppg) Ogelsby (5.3 ppg), Jok (4 ppg) and Dickerson (2.2 ppg).
