Big 10 title game bidding, Delany on divisions & Michigan injury

I think FOX is a terrible venue for CFB, especially the BCS bowls, and I hope like hell ABC/ESPN will always have the Big Ten contract.

A look at the latest from the Big Ten, including a big blow to an already beleaguered Michigan defense.

Big Ten Talk: Title Game Bidding & Recon | Hawkeye Nation

Wow! Tough break for the Wolverines and Michigan faithful. Big, big loss for them ... I've been pointing out depth issues on their secondary for a while now. Their only other upperclassman veteran in the secondary is also a guy who simply isn't all that great. They have talent and potential at the safety-like spots ... however, they were already more than a little weak at CB.

Interesting stuff. PSU, OSU one div, Mich/NE in the other, Iowa in west.

Starting to look like Michigan's going to have another down year.

If that's the way it plays out I doubt Rich Rod will be there come November.

I feel terrible for Woolfolk. At least it sounds like he has a redshirt that is available to him ... that way he can at least go out in style in 2011.

However, he'll have to go out in style under a new coach ... Rich Rod is as good as gone now in my book.

Woolfolk was one of the 2-3 guys they couldn't lose. Their secondary is going to be absolutely horrible....

I think Delaney is absolutely nuts if he pushes to separate OSU and Michigan. He is putting ''The Game'' at risk by doing that, and that is worth more than the Big Ten title game. The only way is to send PSU out west and that is also unlikely. I think Delaney is blowing smoke and it will end up being a geo-west/east split. Otherwise, bring in Michigan, move NW to the east and call it a day. Too bad for MSU/Michigan...they will play every 3 years or so.

As much as i don't like ESPN, Fox is just terrible.

I love what ABC/ESPN offers. It is a way better presentation, and they will market it a hell of a lot better than any other station, BUT like chuck berry use to say before he would go on stage and sing 123, PAY ME MY MONEY. That is what Delaney is saying.

With regards to the geography, you can pretty much write off any divisional speculation that includes Michigan, Ohio State and Penn State in the same division. I still think there is logic with Michigan and Ohio State being in one division with Penn State and Nebraska in the other, but I will no longer be shocked if PSU and OSU are in an eastern division, with Michigan and Nebraska in a western division. Of course, Iowa would be in the western division, too. I’d be fine with that.

It seems that there IS serious consideration of putting OSU and UM in seperate divisions....something I suggested back in June to a chorus of "that will never happen" type responses. Interesting.
