The idea the the University of Iowa would hire a head football coach who does not have experience as a head coach to me is absurd. A lot of threads have discussed this and it came up in the Jon at 6:58 thread. There is a whole lot more in admin and hiring and leadership and recruiting as a head coach than as a coordinator.
Did Lincoln Riley at OU ever have any head coaching experience, maybe not, I hadnt heard of him and maybe he wasnt, time will tell.
I really think there are or will be some good head coaches out there, proven head coaches that fit Iowa who would love to coach the hawks. Time will tell if BF is week to week successful as OC but that is far from head coach.
Iowa is a top 20 revenue and marketing program and a top 30 on the field program overall.
