MY friends and I were talking about who the best Iowa coaches were. We all agreed #1 Bucky O'Conner, #2 Ralph Miller, #3 Lute Olsen, and # 4 Tom Davis. I believe we had some good teams in the early to mid 40's. I can not remember the coaches name.
Has there ever been an Iowa assistant go on to do anything? I can only think of the dude on Bo Ryan's staff....Gary Close I think. Hard to believe we haven't hatched a head coach or two, but I can't think of anyone.
Wonder if he and Deon tweet each other.....Well, there was this guy. He went on to do a lot of things, some honorable, some less so. Was even a head coach at a couple stops. Was forced out of the business a year or two ago.
Wow, total brain freeze on BP. Thanks for the reminder.
