Belein comments on Bawinkel

This is about as much evidence that you need to see why Michigan is really going to regress as a program when Sims and Harris are gone.
 
Wonder why Beilein did not recruit Bawinkel to michigan instead of Stu Douglas two years ago? Hmmmmm...liked him as a tough player but not enough to go after him a second time...Douglas is a bit better,imo...more versatile.

What did catch my eye is that Beilein red-shirted two forwards this year..and has Joe Dumars kid sitting out as a transfer...I have written Michigan off for next year also, but I just wonder if they might be laying in the weeds,and if Manny comes back,still be better than us? Very possible. Morris is a promising frosh, Voigich a promising shooter, Novack and Douglas two year part time starters, a couple good recruits coming in....I am not going to assume Iowa can pass them yet next year.
 
He was being recruited again by Beilein to come to Michigan but once the Hawks offered he committed right away. I did read somewhere that Wink's parents are both Iowa alumni.

O, I also don't think that Iowa will pass them either. I just think that they will be on a steady decline from their tourney appearance last year. They need to recruit more play makers, which is the same thing Iowa needs to do as well.
 
I know that Tim Hardaway jr. is committed to michigan next year, and another kid who is top 100..as well as dragevich from glenbrook north...

Why do you think this? Beilen has had success recruiting and coaching in the Big East with his system. He seems to be landing pretty solid classes so far, I'm actually pretty shocked at how bad Michigan is this season. It's hard to believe they were a top 15 team earlier this season.
 
I think Beilein will turn Michigan into a perennial top 10 team real soon. I had hoped we would have a chance of getting him here to coach ; but Michigan beat us to the punch. I think they've underachieved this year ; but I see them getting better as early as next year. He's a top notch coach .
