Before today's game

I was going to post this and kick me now if you like after todays performance. Look how far this team has come from that opening game loss vs. SDSU. Did anyone see this team competing with teams like OSU and taking Wisconsin to OT and actually beating MSU (yes, I know they are struggling, but still)?

Is there another team in the BT that has improved as much as Iowa has from Game one? Michigan, very close if not more as they do have a winning record? Some may think PSU, but that depends how you look at them, they have far better talent than their record indicates, just let Battle shoot all day and the results speak for themselves (0-5 when he has 20+ shots), note to Ed: spread the wealth.

Iowa's record speaks for itself still being below .500, but if they had played anything outside the conference as they have in conference, they left at least 3 wins on the floor.

I like Iowa's roster right now, but the two open scholarships are key to how much Iowa improves overall. White/Oglesby provide quality scoring from the bench as it stands now. A lot of people want JUCO's because of the success with Cartwright, but Iowa had great success with Basabe as well. This staff can evaluate talent on both levels and that is huge, if they choose any JUCO player then I have to trust them. To me, with all the experience Iowa will return, I would prefer two more high schoolers that can develop, Iowa's bench will be young and continue to build the fondation for today and the future, but at least one won't be able to say that about the starters, no experience. Brommer has come around and proven he is worth a look at starting next season at C and if Archie is still there, it will be interesting seeing him with another offseason with this staff. I like this bench: Payne/Marble/McCabe/Archie/White/Oglesby/?/? a heck of a lot better than this year's bench.
The lack of a quality bench was a huge downfall today.
