How many times have we seen Woodbury one on one with a shorter guy, directly under the basket, gets the ball and he immediately passes it back out to the 3 point line like it's got Ebola on it. He has that, "oh cr*p, what do I do now" look every time he gets the ball and that's why mediocre players like Donavan Jack can torch him.
Not as much as you think, except, maybe at Penn State. In fact, a big reason for the recent struggles on offense is because Woody is
not touching the ball as much as he should.
He was money, all day, at Indy. They had several possessions when they could've extended the lead in the 2nd half and the other guys didn't even look at him, wide open & well-positioned, over the top. Instead, another missed jump shot.
Penn State, he was simply out of sync but there's no excuse why he only attempted 2 shots. When a guy's mauling you, you take it at him and try to get his butt to the bench. Hawks kept settling for jump shots and didn't adjust when they simply were not falling. That Uthoff(14) and Jok(15) took 57% of the shots and Gesell(8) had the 3rd highest number of attempts, that's just a stupid game plan / decision-making by the other guys. Even against bad teams like PSU, you can't get
that 1-dimensional. Then, when that 1 dimension isn't working, ya pretty much get beat in embarrassing fashion.
I'll give you, Woody has his WTF / laugh-out-loud moments but he's been pretty aggressive going to the hoop, with much stronger intent.
