Back Judges Missing Infractions

First it is a difficult job being a back judge. It is often a judgement call on his part, but some infractions are pretty obvious. They are not to blame for Iowa's loss vs Michigan. I did think there were two missed interference calls by Michigan shown on TV. I also read the NW vs NE game has some bad or missed calls. I've watch several Ohio State games and have seen some missed calls as well. There have been numerous instance of the backs grabbing the receivers uniform. It just seems the back judges are letting a lot of things go this year.

One other thing I saw in the Michigan game was what I thought was tripping to tackle Sargent on a short pass. The tackler through his legs in the air while laying on the ground. Wish I had a picture. Is tackling by tripping an Infraction?

Yes on both.

For the argument that says refs won’t throw flags for PI or DH through the whole game ....

It sure doesn’t stop them for flagging OL holding calls .... even in the same drive

Would a back judge failing to see a coach rushing down near the goal line to call timeout be considered a missed call?

Anyone see the Nebraska Illinois game? That is the worst officiated game I’ve seen this year. Big Ten officials are having a rough year from what I’ve seen.
