Several match ups impacting the opportunity for a top 4 finish by Iowa. Two significant games tonight, MSU @Illinois and Purdue @ Penn State. All four teams are competing for the top 4 spots. Iowa has one game with each of those four teams. Who do you want to win in these matchup?

Saturday Maryland is at MSU, Illinois is at Rutgers, and Purdue is at OSU. Iowa is at Indiana on Thursday. It will be interesting to see the standings on Saturday night.

Going forward, pulling for Illinois to lose seems like a good idea. They have a tough schedule are are most likely to fall out of the race. Especially with the way Maryland & PSU are playing. They don't look like they are going to fall behind Iowa. So Illinois with their tough remaining schedule seems to be the logical choice to root against.

Pulling for Rutgers & Wisconsin(puke) to knock off the teams Iowa is battling for position with would help as well as long as Iowa doesn't fall below them in the standings. Iowa owns tiebreakers with both and that won't change.

At this point Iowa’s chances at the B1G title are pretty much done IMO. Chances of winning at MSU or at ILL are very slim, so that puts us at 7 losses right there.

Honestly should probably root for Maryland and MSU to get hot and knock off some of the teams we are competing against for a double bye, but at this point it’s still tough to figure out.

Main thing is for Iowa to somehow get to 1-1 this week. If they do that they should be able to get close to a double bye.

I played around with the bracket simulator, and it is pretty close for Iowa to be between #4 and #6....key matchups to vary from pre-selected seem to be MSU-IL and MSU-Iowa. It is really difficult to root for MSU to end their slide against IL and then turn around and see them lose to IA at home.

Given where most posters (myself included) thought we would end up pre-season, and then w/our injuries, only to see potential to end up 12-8 or, maybe if the north and south poles shift and the round ball gods are smiling, possibly 13-7, is well beyond expectations.

Sparty looking very vulnerable right now. YOU HATE TO SEE IT.

Rutgers and Illinois have brutally tough schedules down the stretch.

Wisconsin has a very manageable schedule down the stretch.
Yeah, Wisconsin actually has a decent shot for top four finish

Golden opportunity to go 1-1 and 2-0 this week. Winnable games. If Hawks can just be right there and give themselves a shot late in the 2nd half.....
That Purdue garbage was sickening.

I fully expect for Indiana to stop their losing streak — for one game only

And for Minnesota to beat Iowa on a couple of late baskets (a banked 25’ to win)
and lose at home to Indiana,
then lose at NW,
and finally ... to play Maryland tight but lose on an open 8’ shot.

I’ve been trained for this.
