B1G Baseball on TV - come on BTN wth

is the cost of production so much BTN can't cover a few more games? Look at the BTN line-up any given day. Lots of replays of football games, TV shows etc. There's been some softball and lacrosse games on live. We get to watch the OSU spring game on loop for days at a time though!

Does BTN just lay a bunch of people off until Football season gets going in August or what? LOL.

The B1G baseball season lasts just 7 weeks and BTN is airing a total of 17 regular season baseball games on TV or BTN2Go over a 6 week period. Even air them tape-delayed at 2 am or noon or whatever is better than no coverage.

I don't even pay attention to BTN outside of football and basketball season because they don't even try to entertain you from April through early August.

The sec network always has baseball on. I suppose it's the quality of the product.

Iowa illinois ohio st maryland are ranked. Product is pretty good.

Plus, if you want to sell and improve your product don't you need to promote your product? Even soap makers know that.

I agree HawkinGL. Where are production crews between basketball and football? Air some baseball games instead of marathons of NW spring football.

college baseball is a different beast in the south compared to the north. i'm guessing clemson/ga has more than a few hundred in the stands.

You do realize the stands were pretty full at the Hawks game last weekend right, almost 2k? Just like almost any sport, put a winning product on the field and people show up. And with the Nebraska game at 3pm Saturday right after the spring football game there should be a great crowd at Duane Banks Field as its a huge series for the Hawks. Would be great to have a SRO crowd for this team!

Baseball may be a different beast in the south from attendance standpoint. Promote product to increase interest is a good place to start.

agree. but i think being 1st/2nd in conference is a good place to start as far as promoting it - butts in the seats on a regular basis, then branch outward. should be able to sell out this season on a regular basis.

wonder what the costs are associated with the big 10 network televising a game? i'm guessing the school co-ops some of that cost in a case like baseball. ??

We are talking about different birds. Yes. Iowa needs to put a good product on ghe gield and then promote it.

The BigTen needs to promote baseball by putting it on tv so that it's member programs can promote itself to recruits to improve their programs. The whole if you show it they will come thing.
